Last week students in my Economic Statistics class submitted the outlines for their term papers. Many of them have creative ideas (there are many future Steven Levitts in the class!) and many of them are proposing to use data from the U.S. Census.
When reviewing one of the data sources a student proposed to use, I clicked the link to the Census web page and saw the following:
The government shutdown is making it difficult for students to write their term papers!
Luckily, many Census pages have been archived by the Internet Archive.
So there are no breaks for a government shutdown after all!
